There is free data recovery software available if you should have hard drive problems or if you accidentally deleted some files. There are many recovery software programs available but some are pricey and you may not need all of the options. There is free data recovery software available to recover or restore a deleted partition, data from removable media etc.

Another option available is data recovery software and there are many types of data recovery software available on the market. However, buying data recovery software can be costly for the use of just one application. For those of us who may have a simple data recovery issue, and want to save time and money, we can take advantage of free data recovery software and many of these can recover data and repair and restore deleted partitions.

The best free way to recover your data is to back it up regularly. If you regularly back up your data, whether it be on an external hard drive or CD you will always be able to recover it. Additionally if you have more than one hard drive you can back up your data on the other hard drive though most computers only have one hard drive.

Whenever your computer needs more storage space for new files it overwrites the files that were previously deleted, sometimes only part of the deleted file, other times the whole file. The computer basically only overwrites for the space it needs to store new files. Free data recovery software will only be able to recover those portions of data that have not been overwritten.

These files backup and restore specific types of files like e-mail or Microsoft outlook databases, ZIP files, image files and more.

A key solution to recovering your data for free is to back-up data on a regular basis, preferably no less than once a week, especially if you are working on a long and continuous project that will be impossible to replicate. There are two ways to best back-up data. One is to copy the data to a CD and the other is to back it up on a secondary hard drive, if you have one. With either of these choices, should you lose data from your primary memory source, for whatever reason, you can easily replace that data with the data you have stored as back up.

There are many types of free data recovery software available on the internet. A simple one is Recuva which can recover documents lost through your recycle bin.
