What Do PCs Offer You?

By Gregory Smith

There has been a lot of talk about the merits of different PCs lately, and with so many different models on the market right now, many casual users can get confused over which one is right for them. Finding the right computer, though, doesn't have to be that difficult if you take time to consider your options.

The first thing you have to think about is your budget. It doesn't matter if you're buying a single computer or outfitting the whole company, this is an important step. Some PCs may be extremely affordable but don't have the power you need. Or there are computers that offer a great image, but charge for features you'll never use.

Sometimes you can find yourself paying for the brand. You may be looking for a computer to perform simple tasks, but then, because of interest in a certain name brand, could wind up paying too much simply to say that you own that specific brand. If you're in the market for a new computer, make sure you are getting exactly what you need.

PCs allow you to compartmentalize your purchasing and get the exact system you need. You don't have to buy your computer in a complete setup. You can simply purchase the parts you need when you need them. And that means you can also upgrade the parts as necessary instead of buying a whole new system.

Are you an avid gamer that needs some serious processing power? Do you work a lot with multimedia applications to edit music and videos? Or are you just a casual user intending to do some Internet browsing and light word processing? These are all things you need to consider when you are in the market for PCs.

Gaming PCs are well known as the cutting edge machines that dedicate a vast amount of processing power to rendering graphics. The graphics cards have to be top of the line, and the sound systems can add a lot to the experience, too. As games continue to advance, it's important to have a computer that is easily upgradable so you can keep up.

If you are using PCs for multimedia applications you will also need something fairly powerful. You will also need a really high quality sound system. If, however, you are just a casual user, you can save yourself some money by skipping those added features and getting a usable but affordable system.

PCs continue to advance every year, and features that were unbelievable one year are now very common. Just make sure to base your choice on actual needs and you will get the machine you need at a price you will like. - 30431

Flash Memory Drives Are The Latest Advance In Data Storage

By Miles Stoppard

There are many different ways to store data that is used on a computer. Since the beginning of computers many different devices have been developed that have increased the storage ability and decreased the size of the storage device. The most recent storage device for computer data is known as a Flash memory.

The decade of the 70's was a big period for computers. It is when they really started to become popular. There were top of the line systems being developed that had new abilities. One such machine was the Digital PDP1170. This $200,000 machine had a 100Mb internal memory and 20MB of storage on 9 track reel to reel tapes. It was a common problem for the tapes to break.

In time these tapes were replaced by floppy disks that were designed to hold storage in a smaller space. The original floppy's were 8 inch floppy's and held 1. 5 megabytes of information. In the 1975 a 5 inch floppy was designed but it only held 110k bytes of data. By 1978 this increased to 360k bytes. By 1984 progress had pushed the limit of storage up to 1MB on a 3 ? "floppy.

This information shows clearly the pattern that was developing and has developed to the point of modern times and Flash memory. Floppy's were replaced by CD's and they had much greater capabilities. Depending on how a CD is formatted it can contain up to 650MB's, or 650 times that of a 3 1/2" floppy.

There was great importance put on the need for even more capabilities. While devices did not get any smaller they became capable of storing much more data. DVD's were the next device for data storage DVD's are formatted differently than CD's. The creation of DVD's and CD's made it possible for zip drives to become just about obsolete. CD's were originally only able to be written on once. This meant that once they had data on them they could not be added to. CD's and DVD's are now rewritable and this means they can be reused numerous times.

DVD's are now being created that have an extra layer of transparent writing space. Which means that they basically have the ability to hold 2 layers of data. These DVD's known as 9 tracks push DVD's ability up to 8GB's of data storage. With this new layer capability there is belief that DVD's could be created to hold mush more data. Their current ability means they can hold as much as 6,000 floppy's.

All of this seems amazing and makes you wonder where the limit might be for data storage. Flash drives are the latest data storage technology. These little drives which are about the size of a lighter, plug directly into a USB port and vary in their storage capabilities. The basic flash drives can carry 16 gigabytes, but have the capability of carrying 256 gigabytes. Or the equivalent of more than 40 DVD's, almost 400 CD's, or 256,000 3 1/2" floppy's (the 1 megabyte formatted floppy's).

The benefit of flash memory is obvious. It is also a sign of things to come. There is technology currently being developed that will allow 1 trillion bytes of data to be stored on a device the size of a postage stamp. Until this is mass produced Flash memory will continue to provide the best way to store data. - 30431

Advantages And Disadvantages With Pc Desktops And Notebooks For Students

By Andrew Johnson

When heading off to college, it is important to consider whether you will need our own personal computer with you. For most courses this will be the case, as it is far more convenient to use your own than one provided by the college in the library or elsewhere. Before you decide upon which to get you may want to consider the benefits of each one. So pc desktops or laptops?

Lets look first at laptops for students. Their main advantage is the fact that they are portable. This makes getting them to college easier, getting them back easier during holiday breaks and at other times, and getting them around the campus easier when you are there. If you want to head off to the library to get some work done, you certainly cannot bring your entire desktop along and plug it all up. However, bringing your laptop could not be more easy. Simply drop it in your bag and away you go.

Laptops can also be used in class during lectures. So for quick typists, being able to rush off notes on a computer rather than by writing by hand is a massive benefit. Just be sure not to distract the rest of the class with all your clicking. Furthermore, with the ability to get wireless internet, having a laptop to search online whenever you need is very convenient. They also take up less space in your room, which, if its quite cluttered, can make a difference.

And how about the benefits of owning a desktop? Desktops are generally cheaper to get that laptops and you get more bang for your buck with them. They will tend to be more reliable and if they break may well be cheaper to fix or else getting a new one will again be less pricey. If you accidentally cause some damage to them as well, they are cheaper to fix.

You will be able to get higher specification machines with pc desktops and they will be faster and easier to use will a greater number of functions. You will also be less likely to accidentally hit the desktop and for it to fall onto the floor causing damage.

Finally, desktops are more ergonomically correct for their users. They are better for your posture, for you eyes and your hands and for students spending a lot of time sat at their desks fiddling with their pc's this is an important factor. - 30431

A Gaming Pc Is A Powerful Type Of Computer

By Andrew Johnson

If you have the gamer that lives in your home, chances are that you know that you have to get just the right gaming PC for them. However, if you are not a gamer then this task might not be so easy. You need to know that there is an actual category for a gaming PC.

A computer that is designed for gaming is built differently that a regular computer. You can do the same tasks that you can on other computers, but if you are only surfing the web on a gaming computer, then you are seriously wasting resources.

These computers usually have the top of line video cards. The graphics on video games can amazingly stunning and you need a card that will be able to allow the game to come to life.

The processor is a big focal point. If your processor cannot keep up then the game play will seem choppy and erratic. The game play is often fast and you need to your PC to keep up with the action. A quad-core processor is the best that you can get and you should not have to deal with long load times and annoying choppiness.

Your RAM should be many and your hard drive should be spacious. Your game play and graphics are directly affected if you do not have enough memory. Try and stay in the range of 4G worth of RAM, if you just intend to play a game. If you want to Facebook with your friends, listen to music and run something else in the background, then you might want to start with 6G of RAM. A 500G hard drive is ample for your needs.

You want to make sure that there are a lot of I/O ports that are easy accessible. There are joysticks, steering wheels and gaming controllers that need to be plugged in. And what fun is gaming if you cannot invite some friends over? They need a place to plug in their controllers as well.

There are many fancy towers out there. Some that light up and pulse along with your game play. And there are other cases that just look really cool and unique. But the outside case does not have anything to do with how your games will run, so make sure that you have anything that you want and need on the inside before you worry about outside appearances. - 30431

Spyware Removal - Keep The System Safe

By Susan Reynolds

You have no doubt heard of the term spyware. You might actually have it on your computer right now, without knowing it. A leading online research company found that 89% of computers connected to the Internet are infected with spyware. Spyware removal has become an industry on its own.

Most of the time spyware is installed on a person's computer without his knowledge or consent. Many of them are relatively harmless and are therefore called 'adware' rather than 'spyware'. Their sole purpose is to collect information about your surfing habits and then display advertisements to you - either by changing your browser's home page, or by using pop-ups.

If you suddenly experience pop-ups inexplicably appearing all over your computer screen, you should start to suspect a spyware/aware infection. Another tell-tale sign is when your computer becomes slower and slower - when you type something there is a lag before it appears on the screen.

If you regularly visit online gaming websites, adult sites or crack sites you are a prime target. So too if you make use of P2P file download sites. Innocent looking free wallpapers and screen savers might not be so innocent after all.

A lot of spyware is installed with your consent! When you sign up for many online email services (yes, including the big names), somewhere in the fine print is a short clause authorizing them to scan your emails and sell that information to advertisers. If you use one of these services and you discuss something with your friends via email, you might soon start receiving 'commercial email" about the subject.

A much more serious example of spyware is the so called keystroke logger. This small piece of software monitors every single keystroke on your computer and then sends that information to its owner. Does it sound ominous? Of course. Imagine if someone should install one of these on your computer and it sends your banking user name and password or your tax details to him.

Ordinary anti-virus tools do not pick up the majority of spyware and adware. This is because they work differently from the normal computer virus and often embed themselves in the computer's operating system. To remove spyware from your computer, do a search on Google for spyware removal tools. There are many programs you can download for free - beware, however, that the "spyware removal tool" is not actually a spyware installation tool. A good one that we have tested is Advanced System Care.

To do the scan, first disconnect from the Internet and close whatever browser windows might be open. Then start the scan. Should the program pick up spyware, it will generally first ask for your permission to remove it. If this would mean removing your favorite smiley - you have to decide whether you want a spyware free computer or one infected with spyware posing as a nice smiley.

Spyware removal is not something you should do one a year, or even once a month. If you knew how many websites were trying to install spyware or aware on your computer during a normal day's web surfing, you would actually do it on a daily basis. Once a week is the absolute minimum. - 30431

Desktop Pcs:the Dissipating Pristege Of The Computer Business

By Andrew Johnson

For a long time, we all thought desktop PCs were here to stay. They were first used in elementary schools and business offices. Then they became a part of the household. This is all slowly coming to an end. Individuals want portability now. They do not want to be chained to their computers anymore. Laptops and net books are slowly becoming the new fad.

The idea of being stuck at the desktop in order to get work done annoys people now. They want to be take their workhome with them, or anywhere they need to go. It gives new meaning to the phrase "old ball and chain".

However, the desktop computer is still enjoying some usage in the home. It is now more often than not set up in a study or home office. It is now designated as a work only terminal. Most families have a time limit set, and instant messengers and chat are forbidden during homework time on the computer.

Game systems like the PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Nintendo Wii are taking over the job of entertainment. Families enjoy the graphics and sound of these systems over the computers. They feel more engrossed in the game. Portable systems are also more desirable for the traveling game lover. It hasn't been too common to see anyone play games on the computer.

Computer games are enjoying a revival in the most recent years. Games like The Sims and other simulation games like it are helping to revive game playing on the computer. Individuals who like to play computer games are generally stuck at the computer because of the need for an actual mouse. Touch pads, like what is on a laptop, do not cut it for most games.

Perhaps the most common place you will see anything that resembles a commonly used desktop is in your local stores. They are still using desktops to keep track of the stockroom, order items for their customers, and keep track of purchases. This is good news for the desktop! Other places that still use desktops include libraries and hospitals.

Desktop PCs appear to be on their way out. However, businesses still rely on them to help keep things going. In a retail business, it is often not practical to use traveling laptops or net books. You do not move as much. Using a desktop computer is great for distraction free work. Putting it in a room that is without a TV or radio will insure plenty of productivity. - 30431

Use Low-cost Components To Create Gaming Pcs

By Andrew Johnson

If your current gaming computer is several years old, it's definitely time for an upgrade. Luckily, you can create good high-performance gaming PCs inexpensively.

We've researched the components for you, and found which ones will offer the best cost to performance ratio available today. You won't even need thousands of dollars! All you need is a CPU and video card (GPU) combination that can handle even the most intensive games and enough system RAM to pull it all together.

You need only consider three components to build s great gaming PCs: the CPU, the GPU and the system RAMThere are some astoundingly powerful CPUs on the market today. They carry truly astounding price tags, too. Most of those high-end processors won't offer you the processing you need for gaming, though. At around $100 you can buy the Athlon II X4 620 by AMD and not have to worry if your CPU can handle your games. The Athlon II X4 620 provides fantastic game processing at a price that won't hurt your bank account. Higher end processors like the Intel Core i7 965 or the AMD Sempron 140 are more powerful, and cost more, but they don't handle gaming nearly as well.

Choosing a video card can be confusing. Do you really need a GPU with 2 GB of video RAM? No, you don't. Most of those high-end cards are far too expensive anyway, and offer only a very slight difference in performance. You don't even need a 1 GB; as little as 896 MB will render even the toughest games beautifully. We've found two inexpensive options for you to choose from: the Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 and the AMD Radeon 5750. They'll cost about $130 or $160 respectively, and offer truly spectacular gaming support.

At this point, The system islikely to be the most expensive portion of gaming PCs. RAM prices are high right now, and it looks like they may stay that way. But you don't have crack open the piggy bank, either.

Your new gaming PC doesn't need the full 24 GB of system RAM that several newer computers support. In fact, that much RAM only offers a very slight increase in performance, and the massive cost doesn't make it worthwhile. You can purchase 4 GB of system RAM for much less and still enjoy hours of superb gaming. You will, however, have to invest in a 64-bit operating system like Windows XP x64 to utilize more 3. 5 GB of system RAM. Without a 64-bit OS, your system won't recognize the full spectrum of RAM available to it.

Now a word of caution: steer clear of gaming network cards. They may seem like a good idea, but your connection doesn't improve if you use one. A better bet would be a new router if you're having trouble with your online gaming. They'll cost about as much as the newer gaming network cards, but will give you a much more stable Internet connection. - 30431

These computers also come with a warranty of some sort although not as long or extensive as it did when it was brand new. You will want to ask the store you are buying from if the computer is used or refurbished. If you are looking a used computer you will want to make sure that it boots up correctly. That is a problem most used computers will have. You then want to make the mouse is working correctly, especially on a lap top computer. You will want to make sure the key board is working correctly.

Check the video, sound devices and graphics. They all should be in proper working order. You may be looking at a stolen computer and not know it. Take the computer to someone you trust who knows about computers and let him check it out. A used computer may be the best bargain for you if you are careful when you buy it. But you do not want to make a bad choice and then have to spend money to replace it with a new computer. Oh and by the way take your computer friend out to lunch for his trouble for looking at your used computer. - 30431

A Beginners Summary To Pc Desktops And How They Operate

By Andrew Johnson

PC desktops are one of the most significant pieces of human achievement in the 21st century. They have become the cornerstone for modern society so much so that it has become government goals to ensure everyone has one.

The interface that allows the user to utilize the power of PCs is called the operating system. This piece of software loads all the relevant drivers needed to operate the PC and also loads an interface that the user can interact with to command the PC to perform tasks.

Currently the two main operating systems available are Windows and Macintosh. Although they effectively do the same thing, they are used differently. Windows is tailored more for the family and business market, with its easy to use interface but capable of quickly and efficiently running many in house software created by business'.

The Macintosh is generally used by designers and engineers. The Mac is a simpler piece of programming which allows for increased dedication of the PCs power towards the programs being ran. Graphic design programs can be much more easily used and the time it takes for the processing of documents within these programs is much quicker than an equivalent Windows system.

For a PC to run effectively all the components must be working properly. A fault with any and you could find your PC not working at all or running very slowly. The motherboard is the unit that connects together all of the different components of a PC and allows them to communicate. The hard drive is a large disk that is used to same information such as pictures or music.

Other items a PC needs to run are a graphics card, RAM, power unit and of course the processor, without these the system will not run. There are many other additions that can be added to a PC they range from DVD-ROM drives to webcams. The most expensive item to replace within the PC is the processor, unbelievably to replace they can cost more than the complete system itself.

Depending on the price you pay for a PC desktops will depend mostly on the specification but also how easy it is for you to upgrade the machine. Most of the bottom-end PCs are priced like this because it is likely that they will not last more than 2 years maximum, such is their technical make-up. If you decide to save and go for one of the more pricey PCs I guarantee it will be able to last you for up to 6 years easily. - 30431

Understanding Data Storage and Servers

By Vernon Young

If you happen to be someone, who has the least knowledge about computers, the words severs and data storage are indeed unfamiliar. You will have to catch up with more learning though. Very young computer buffs, even at the age of seven, may probably teach you a little about these already. If you are using computers often, then it is really time to learn about data storage and servers.

In the age of the internet, these two items are perhaps the most important hardware commonly mentioned. This fact makes it necessary for any computer user, whether he has some knowledge on PCs or none, to understand the basic characteristics of data storage and servers. Otherwise, he will not be able to make some adjustments to make his internet service and data management better.

Even in buying a computer, it will be difficult for you to pick a good choice if you do not know what data storage and servers are. You will only be puzzled at all the technical literature provided to you in a brochure or through a brand's website.

The term data storage should be simpler to understand though. Its name, obviously, refers to its being where the computer stores information. All the data here can also be retrieved for further processing as the user wishes. Usually, there are two main storage devices in present PC models; one is the internal hard drive while the other is the optical reading device.

You may also call it as memory. Although, you should not also mistake it as your PC processor's register or cache. A data storage device stores huge amount of data for long periods while registers and caches do not.

The data storage size is read in gigabytes. Your older computer of the early nineties may still be in megabytes though. That was when all you can do with it was to encode your college papers. The latest PCs can be used for so many tasks and programs, requiring it to have more data storage capacity.

A server, on the other hand, is either a computer or a device that delivers a service. In particular, it refers to a hardware that caters to the internet or intranet needs of a single or a group of computers. It may also be a separate electronic device that connects a network of computers to a single internet connection.

Some servers may also act as data storage. These allow all networked computers to keep, share, and retrieve files from a single source. The system of computers connected to it can be considered a domain. Hence, a server may also bear the responsibility of maintaining the domain name system, making it the controlling computer in network. - 30431

How To Shop For The Latest Desktop Pcs For Home Or Office

By Andrew Johnson

Over the last couple of years there have been major advancements in home computing. Now it is not difficult to get hold of desktop PCs that are twice as possible as those designed just two or three years ago.

Perhaps the biggest consideration is the budget. Desktop computers are available in a wide price range. The cheapest models cost just a few hundred dollars while top of the range machines can cost a few thousand dollars. It is important to get the best machine for your budget. If you do not have a clear figure in your head then it can become much harder to choose between the various models and options.

A lot of people now choose to assemble a system from nothing. This allows them to have a PC that is configured in a way which suits the user. For example you may want a fast processor but are not too bothered about the graphics card, or perhaps the size of the hard drive is important to you.

If you plan to use your PC only a few times a week to check your email and browse the internet then you should avoid an expensive model. Choose an option that does not have the latest and fastest hardware, but for occasional use it should more than suffice.

If you can afford to spend a few hundred more dollars then you can pick up a PC that has extra abilities. By paying around $600 you can buy a system that has greater memory, faster processor, and a DVD burner. Remember to check whether the price of the monitor is included in the cost.

The most expensive desktop PCs will have the latest dual or quad core processor chips that give an unbelievable performance. They are likely to also have a large capacity hard drive (upwards of 500GB), 4GB RAM, and now often a Blu-Ray player as well.

Before you spend your hard earned money you should have an idea of what type of PC you are after. It is important to think about how you will use the PC as different tasks require different specifications. If one of your motives is to have a modern gaming PC then pay close attention to the graphics card.

Another consideration is what operating system the PC uses. There is a wide variety now on offer. Many new systems will come with Windows 7 preinstalled. Trials have shown that this is a highly responsive and reliable OS. - 30431

Detecting and Destroying Adware Before it Infects Your PC

By Graham McKenzie

Did you ever open a website only to have half a dozen small windows? or sometimes full pages? pop up in front of you, trying to sell you everything from online dating services to the most embarrassing porn?

The culprit behind these incredibly annoying popups is Adware, the bits and pieces of software that malicious websites leave on your computer in your web browser's cache of old files and cookies. Usually Adware does not result in any long-term damage to your PC, but there is no doubt it can slow down your computer's performance and generate popups that block your view of web pages over and over again.

That is the reason that it is no small wonder that millions of PC users demand an effective way to delete adware even before it gets on their computer. And, fortunately for computer users everywhere, there are tons of options to help us to just that.

Following a single simple rule will drastically reduce adware's ability to infect your PC. What's the rule? Stay away from questionable websites. There are websites that you have to avoid at all costs. These include sites with picture, video, or music downloads. The no-go list includes any site selling dating, gambling, pharmaceuticals, or porn. It is, moreover, an excellent idea to stay away from sites for online dating services. Most adware gets downloaded to your computer from these kinds of sites. Avoid these sites, and chances are you will avoid adware.

There is a tiny fraction of the remaining adware that comes from other sites, but there are options that allow you to detect it. Most of the latest editions of popular browsers provide some form of adware protection. You might get a red warning flat telling you that a website you are about to visit might put your computer at risk. By enabling these features of your browser, you can protect your computer from problems before they ever start.

What is the ultimate tool for blocking adware from your computer? Try a good version of anti-adware software. Anti-adware detects and deletes potential adware, making sure it never enters your cache.

This software remains on all the time. You can usually see an icon for it in the taskbar at the bottom right hand of your computer screen. Every time you open a website, download a file, or open an email, the program will scan the content of the files and tell you if there is any malicious content. In a small number of cases, anti-adware will block downloads and in the most severe cases it will quarantine files in the same that your anti-Virus software does.

With common sense and by carefully avoiding high-risk sites, and an effective anti-adware program, you can keep your computer safe from infectious files, unwanted popups, and annoying adware that slows you down and gets in your way. - 30431

What Stats Are Important For A Pc Desktop For Gaming?

By Andrew Johnson

Do you want to buy a new pc desktop for your gaming needs? Do you want to play the very best games that are made today? If you do, then you should certainly look into a computer that comes with the best components to make sure you have one of the best gaming experiences available. There is a wide variety of computer parts that can increase the performance of your computer for games, but there are a few components that are essential to creating a high quality gaming experience. Here is a list of the most important parts of any gaming computer.

An important part to creating the best gaming experience available is the type of processor your system contains. When you go to buy your computer, make sure you look for the best computer processors available on today's market. The processor speed is very important, because the fluidity of your gaming experience will depend upon a fast processor. The load time of advanced applications will also be sped up with a fast processor. If you are looking into the best games around, you should not settle for anything less than 2 GHz for your computer processor.

The next most important aspect to your computer for gaming is the RAM. When you have a fast computer with tons of RAM, you guarantee you will never run into a portion of a game where the computer has difficulty handling the graphics. The graphics are always silky smooth when you have enough RAM and processing power to handle the application. If you are looking for decent amounts of RAM without going overboard, then you should look into a computer with at least 2 GB of RAM. This will be sufficient for most games. If you want to make sure you have the best system available for all of your gaming needs, then you should ensure your computer has 4 GB of RAM. Going higher than this can still improve your computing experience, but 4 GB is certainly a top of the line machine in today's computer age. Even more RAM may be necessary if you are also an avid photo editor, because large pictures sometimes require more memory for editing efficiently.

The most important part to your gaming experience is the type of graphics card installed in your computer. When you have a good graphics card installed, your gaming becomes seamless and flawless. Good graphics cards are responsible for giving the silky smooth display you see on the high end computers produced today. If you are an intensive gamer, then make sure you have one of the best graphics cards produced to get the most from your games.

There are also computers that are manufactured with two graphics cards installed to improve your gaming even further. When multiple graphics cards are in your computer, your gaming experience can be greatly enhanced. There are some graphics cards that are actually better than two graphics cards though, so if you are interested in the very best graphics cards available, you will probably be best off with just one top of the line card in your computer.

When you go to buy your pc desktop, make sure the processor is fast, because every aspect of any computer will depend on the processor speed. Next, make sure there is as much RAM as possible. Once you find a computer with large amounts of RAM, you will know you have a fast computer in front of you. The graphics card is the most important part though, so make sure it is a high end graphics card installed in the computer you choose.

When you buy top of the line equipment in these categories, your computer experience will surely be one of the best experiences available in the gaming world. - 30431

Some Information On Gaming Pcs

By Matthew Kerridge

If you have always been curious about gaming pcs but didn't know where to go to learn about them, then you should read on. Whether you are playing for fun or because you are interested in becoming a serious gamer, your usual desktop computer is not enough for any game with super intense graphics. A gaming pc is specifically created to meet the needs of gamers and the games that they play. If you don't know anything about gaming pcs, then the following information can be a short education on them.

Anything and everything that you are going to find on a gaming pc is going to be higher quality and have different uses than it would on a regular computer. The inside of the pc itself differs greatly from normal computers themselves. Looking inside will show you the best hardware that is available on the market, in higher qualities than what you would typically receive on a normal computer. A gaming pc is equipped with tons of ports everywhere for the gamers that have multiple gaming peripherals to plug in at any given moment. Many gamers build these pcs custom.

These types of pcs have processors that are at an amazingly fast speed. Gamers do not want to deal with ridiculous lags and freezes during their game play, so they usually purchase the best processors they can find. In combination with that, there is also tons of memory on a gaming pc, as in, multiple gigabytes of space. Gamers know there is nothing worse than trying to play their game on a slow computer. Having lots of memory on the drive prevents this.

If you like games that are intense on graphics and sound, then you need to have the best graphics cards as well as the best sound cards installed into your computer. A gaming pc has this. These computers have the top of the line in all hardware, and graphics and sound cards are a necessity to avoid choppy graphics and a poor sound experience during your game.

If you decide to go browsing for a gaming pc, be aware that these computers look a lot different than the computers that you are used to seeing. Gaming computers have decorative casing and lights to make them more noticeable in comparison to other computers. Sometimes you will even see clear casing that showcases what is held inside of the gaming pc itself. A gaming pc's design is meant to capture your attention, at any rate.

The reason why some gamers choose to build their pcs custom instead of buying them is because they have the funds to do so and they have everything in mind of what they need from their ideal gaming pc. Beginners may often buy pre-built gaming pcs, but later on either rebuild or build custom pcs when they have more experience and knowledge of what they want from their gaming experience.

The point is, if you are planning on gaming seriously, soon that desktop pc that you have grown accustomed to is not going to perform satisfactorily anymore. Maybe you already have noticed that your usual desktop computer just isn't meeting the goals of what you need anymore. Whatever the case, you should check out the market and see which gaming pc is right for you. - 30431

How To Make Money Fast Online

By Adam Kwin

Can you actually make money online quickly? In short, yes. However there are so many websites out there that make outrageous promises and are only out to get your money and not offer any real advice. That being said let me tell you of a couple ways to make money free of charge.

3 Online real money making things you can do.

1. Associated Content.

2. Cash Crate.

3. Forum booster.

Lets start with associated content. Of all three this would be the first place I would start when needing quick money. Associated content, simply put, is writing content or articles for other people.

Company's will pay you between $3 and $40 to just type content or articles for them.

It is very simple to do and only takes a short amount of time, you will quickly be doing several articles a day and that money adds up nicely. It important to keep in mind most company's try to get your articles for 10 bucks or less however you don't have to sell at that price if you choose not to.

Cash Crate is a great way to make some extra money. This company will pay you to take surveys, ranging from 1 - 100 dollars.

Doesn't sound too bad now does it? The reason they pay you to complete surveys is that companies are willing to shell out loads of cash for in-depth information from their consumers to find out exactly what the word on the street is about their product or services.

On the homepage of Cash Crate they have a daily survey that makes money. The survey pays a minimum of .80 cents. That may not seem like a lot but over a month that extra 30 bucks could take you to dinner or fill your gas tank.

Are you still asking yourself that question, how do I make money fast? Well if writing tons of articles and taking surveys doesn't really sound like your cup of tea, there is always the alternative of Forum Booster.

Here is how Forum Booster works. You simply go read forums and post reply's. Its very fast and very easy, you get paid 6 cents for every post. So if you can make 60 post a hr, which you could do extremely easy. That is 6 bucks an hr for reading and posting to forums you would have probably been reading and posting on anyhow.

You might be thinking wow that's not much money. It's not but think of it this way, your at your home sitting in your pajamas getting paid to surf forums. These post only have to be 12 words long. Not bad.

Yes there are ways to make bigger and better money online but those require work and are not as quick. I wanted to give you a couple tips for making quick money. If your wanting something a little more in depth however with bigger payouts check out my links at the bottom of this post. - 30431

PC Desktops: What to Think About

By Matthew Kerridge

If you are in the market to buy a computer, there are so many PC desktops to choose from, it can be an overwhelming task. How do you sift through all the products available?

Of course, you want to think about how you are going to use your computer. But spend the time doing this before you begin to shop. It is all too easy to either over buy or under buy if you have not really determined your needs.

For basic uses such as spreadsheets, documents and emails, you can invest in a simple system. However, if you plan to be using your computer for applications that use a lot of graphics or need excellent audio output, you need to spend a bit more money on a system that is more powerful. Do not, however, buy based on what you think your needs may be too far ahead of time. Technology changes rapidly and there may be something better by the time you are ready.

With a basic system, you will not need a super processor. Any dual-core processor will be sufficient for your needs. However, if you are going to be using applications that use a lot of graphics such as video editing or gaming, you are going to need something more powerful such as a four-core processor.

Operating memory can be added at anytime. But it is still best to try to plan according to your needs and have what you need installed when you purchase the computer. Keep in in mind that it will need to run all the applications you plan on using.

The size of the hard drive you will need will also depend on the way you use the desktop. Again, if you are only working with simple documents and spreadsheets, these do not take a lot of space. Movies, photos and other graphic heavy or audio files take up a great deal of room on the other hand.

Take some time to consider what you need in terms of port to connect peripheral devices to, such as printers. You will need enough FireWire and USB ports to accommodate all of them. Think about room for expansion if you think you may need it, such as for an improved graphics card.

Whatever your computer needs, you will find many PC desktops that fit the bill. And there will be plenty of options in your price range. - 30431

Desktop Computers And Advancing Technology

By Matthew Kerridge

The personal computer or PC is also known as a desktop computer. These computers are made for staying in one location and most are used in homes or offices. Laptops and notebook computers are designed for travel instead. The first computers made were gigantic in size. They took up entire rooms in fact. When the first desktops came out they were big and bulky, but compared to the original computers, they were considered small even though they still really outsize our modern computers.

Desktops come in a big variety of sizes and styles. The tower design changes from company to company now and they can either be slim in size, regular. They can also lay flat or stand vertical on end. Some computers have the entire system tucked in behind the monitor, built in.

Which takes us to the difference in monitors on the desktop computer. Early monitors were big, bulky and very heavy. Monitors being made now are flat screen and very light. They are also getting less expensive as technology gets better. There are even touch screen models available for many PC's.

The all-in-one unit is a very cool design of desktops. It is the most space saving computer available. Instead of having a separate tower that houses the computer's mother board and all of it's functioning parts, it is all built in to the back of the monitor. This is a great idea for people who have very limited space.

PC's have an external mouse and external keyboard unlike laptops. This means you can choose different accessories for your computer. Also on most models of PC's, there are external speakers available too. You can choose from a line of great accessories.

The PC has something over laptops. They typically have better operating systems and can handle graphics and video systems better. Many people choose them for gaming and for advanced graphics editing. Laptops don't typically support these types of programs too well because of their lack of memory and RAM.

Technology is constantly improving when it comes to computers. This is another reason that people should choose the PC. They can easily be upgraded as computers get better. Upgrading is easy and almost anyone can do it without much help. Wireless network cards are also easy to install yourself with just a couple screws. Trying to do this sort of thing on laptops you run the risk of breaking your laptop and it can be frustrating because of the component sizes. - 30431

Satisfaction In Reading Regcure Registry Cleaner Review

By John Adams

It is a well known fact that having an operating system repaired specifically, Windows Vista, can cost a small fortune. And having to visit the computer repair shop once is a rare occurrence. Users can expect to spend quite a lot of money from frequent trips to the repairman. Ordinary users let go of so much money while professionals use powerful and inexpensive software. Yet, they get the same level of performance. A thorough research of these professionals' secrets and habits reveal a lot for the Windows Vista user. This way, a lot of people can save a lot of money while wasting a lot less.

Because it is a relatively new operating system, Vista is prone to so many errors. Majority of users usually head on to computer professionals without knowing that they can repair Windows Vista on their own. Going to the computer repair shop every time something goes wrong is simply too expensive and not that economical. Take for example, this situation:

Registry cleaners and similar software optimize Windows performance by scanning the registry methodically and thoroughly, reorganizing and matching all registry files with the programs or applications that use the specific files. Users also have the option to repair damaged files and can even recover lost files. These particular maintenance applications have automatic and manual modes. Using the automatic mode, the cleaners scan, identify, and repair the errors. The cleaner also provides a list of all detected errors for the user to see. In manual mode, the application does the same up to the identification part. It is up to the user to decide what to do with the report generated by the cleaner.

The good thing about registry cleaners is that they keep a record of all the repairs done by the user. Previous changes to the registry can be recovered easily if needed. By freeing the registry of unwanted errors and files, they optimize Windows performance to a high level. As important tools, cleaners play a crucial role in keeping the Windows operating system working at its peak.

The registry is a very sensitive area and the smallest mistake can cause serious damage to your computer, or worse, render it useless. So, take note not to repair errors on your own if you do not know what exactly you are doing. A good cleaner is cheap and will fix every error instantly. It will ensure that the data stored is well organized. In addition, cleaning and scanning the registry regularly can enhance your computer's performance and speed. Be careful in choosing a cleaner, especially if you opt for free software. Always read PC registry cleaners reviews to gain information about the software. - 30431

One Of The Best Software Cleaning Products Out There

By John Adams

Your registry has a crucial role in your computer because it stores very important files required by most programs to properly run; hence it is imperative that you should know how to clean Windows registry and perform this method on a regular basis in order to ensure that your system is always on top working condition. It is essential to know that every activity that you do on your unit is being recorded in this area of your system; such activities are installation of new software, running a program, and even minute changes like editing or simply using your mouse creates a file that records this activity and stored in this area.

There are two main options for you to fix corrupt registry; the traditional way is to manually clean your computer from junk files and fix the problem. This process requires some degree of technical expertise in order for you to precisely identify various junk files and separate them from important ones. Your competency in this field is highly important because the moment you commit a mistake of erroneously identifying an important file as trash data, it can cause tremendous effect on your system and further aggravate the problem at hand.

How do you clean up the registry? They would greatly recommend using the best cleaning software available in the market today that will do this job for you effectively. Although there is a manual method of doing this, but they strong advice against using this technique considering the fact that it requires advanced technical knowledge in order to perform this process; even then, there is still higher risk involved in accidentally deleting important files that might cause more serious trouble.

On the other hand, the other group's answer to the question on how do you clean up the registry is a resounding "No, you do not need to clean this area." This is based on the risk involved in manipulating this area of your computer. For them, the benefit of slightly improving your computer is definitely not worth enough to bring your computer at higher risk of damaging your registry as a result of erroneous move to delete important files. Furthermore, according to them, there is still no legitimate testing of registry-cleaning tools to date that will prove its claim of greatly improving the performance of your system from the use of such programs.

Therefore, you need to have some degree of knowledge on the basic features which the best software should possess that will efficiently perform its intended purposes. PC Desktops: What to Look For

By Matthew Kerridge

Among so many PC desktops on the market, choosing just one is not an easy job. There are a few things that you should consider to help you make your decision.

Of course, you want to think about how you are going to use your computer. But spend the time doing this before you begin to shop. It is all too easy to either over buy or under buy if you have not really determined your needs.

If your computer will be used primarily for basic emails, documents and spreadsheets, a basic system will suffice. If, on the other hand, you will be using more intense audio and graphic applications, you will have to invest in a faster and more powerful system that can handle those capabilities. You do not want to buy based on possible needs very far in the future as computer technology tends to progress quite rapidly.

With a basic system, you will not need a super processor. Any dual-core processor will be sufficient for your needs. However, if you are going to be using applications that use a lot of graphics such as video editing or gaming, you are going to need something more powerful such as a four-core processor.

System memory can be added later easily. However, it is a good idea to get what you think you will need along with the rest of the system. This is going to have to open and operate all your applications, so keep that in mind while making your decision.

For the hard drive memory needs, this again depends on how you will be using your computer. For basic files such as documents and spreadsheets, you don't need a lot of room. If you are going to be saving movies and graphic files on your hard drive, these can take up a huge amount of space, and again it is far better to start with an ample amount.

Another consideration is the ports available. You want to be sure you have enough USB ports for all the things you will need to connect, as well as FireWire ports. Again, the key is to flesh out how you plan on using your computer first and what you may want to connect such as printers and external hard drives. You always want to leave room for expansion such as the ability to add a graphics card if your needs change later.

Whatever your computer needs, you will find many PC desktops that fit the bill. And there will be plenty of options in your price range. - 30431

Can A Windows Registry Cleaner Speed Up Your Slow PC?

By Arthur O'Neale

There is a very important element inside your computer that is in charge of keeping your computer up to speed and that element is called the registry. The registry is an extension of your operating system that's sole job is to keep your system files organized. Whenever you go onto the internet to browse and download, the registry is hard at work making sure that everything gets put in the right place.

Every day use, like moving files, updating programs, browsing the internet and downloading programs can cause random errors in your registry. When an error occurs it makes your registry work harder and eventually it cannot handle all the work by itself. When this happens your registry gets backed up. This back up causes your whole computer to slow down and suddenly random .dll errors and the dreaded blue screen of death occur. That is when you will need to call upon a good Registry Easy cleaner.

The Registry Easy cleaner does a very important job. The registry can be checked manually, but it is very intricate and delicate, so when it needs to be checked for errors, even the slightest mistake will cause a disaster. The Registry Easy cleaner is a program that is designed to check your registry thoroughly. Once it has located all the errors inside your registry it can repair them right on the spot. Errors in your registry are usually very hard to locate and, unlike us, a registry cleaner knows exactly what should and should not be in the registry.

Whenever we see a computer acting weird, our first thought is that it has come in contact with a virus or that it has been corrupted by malware, but often times that is merely a misconception. If you see your computer running slower than usual, it may just be caused by a confused registry, so all hope is not completely lost. Checking your registry with a Registry Easy cleaner before you take your computer to a local computer technician will not only save you time, but money as well.

Deciding to take your computer to the local repair squad is very time consuming and a financial disaster. They are going to charge you hundreds of dollars to do the SAME EXACT thing you could do at home. These "computer experts" depend on people not knowing how to solve these little problems, but really it is not as difficult as you might believe. - 30431

The Tricky And Daunting Pc Desktops Search

By Matthew Kerridge

So you know you're interested in buying PC desktops for your next computers. The best way to go about knowing what you're looking for would be educating yourself on what you need for your intended use. There are different capacities required for different types of users, and once you know where you fit it, it's easier to narrow down your decision.

Many consumers are really just looking for something that they can use to connect to the internet, send emails and photos, and stay connected to their friends. Some activities might include research, homework, and the like but overall you're looking at basic uses. Since the PC has been in direct competition with the laptop for quite some time you'll be happy to know that you can get the PC that will meet your demands for less then $1000. The PC has been looking toward the consumer to help spread cheaper sales back over to the desktop version.

If you think that you're going to need more than the average user requirements you should expect to spend between $1000 and $2000. The higher price tag is associated with the ability to handle the larger files that go with things like music or video editing, some gaming requirements, and fast response.

For a desktop with the necessary components to drive a more powerful system you'll need to ensure that while you're not overpaying, you're not being taken to the mat either.

If you're an avid gamer and you know that you want to be able to move forward and conquer the higher level games that are just hitting the market today, you will need a minimum of $3000 for the desktop system that will be able to keep you competitive. Of course, you don't want to buy for more than a year in advance, as new technology will come out right after you buy this PC. You'll need room in your budget to upgrade as new games make their way toward better, leading edge technology.

Know what the system requirements should cost you in both the PC desktops and the laptops. That way you will be able to easily recognize when you're being snowed into paying way more for a system than you need to.

Buying new PC desktops isn't a choice that can usually be made on a moment's notice. It takes a certain degree of research in order to be a knowledgeable consumer in this aspect. The more you understand what you're looking for, why it needs to have a specific level of development, and what you should expect to pay for a system of that caliber the less likely you are to get ripped off for a mediocre computer. - 30431

Helpful Tips For Buying Good Inexpensive Desktop Pcs

By Matthew Kerridge

It is easy to find good cheap desktop pcs these days. There is a huge amount of information available on the web about personal computers and whether you require a desktop pc for use at home or to run a small business doing your research will allow you to find one.

To find cheap desktop pcs you can wait until the seasonal sales. Many places have computers on sale regularly, both in the shops and online on the web. If you want a good deal this is a great way to acquire a new cheap desktop pc.

The trick of finding good inexpensive desktop pcs is where you go to buy them. Big department stores often have bargains with advertised huge discounts, but the actual pcs are very basic models. It may sound obvious but when you are looking for a computer, go to a computer shop. Specialist stores will have better prices and higher quality desktop pcs than department stores.

One excellent way of buying cheap desktop pcs is to ask for a packaged system. When the staff of a specialised computer store assemble the computer themselves from bought separate parts it is called a package system. These offer real value for money and an added bonus is that you can speak to the sales staff and let them know your exact requirements and inform them of any limits in your budget in order to facilitate them to choose the ultimate pc for you.

Refurbished desktop pcs are a great way to buy a computer on a budget. They are usually decent machines at bargain prices. If you only want the computer to perform basic tasks such as sending and receiving email, word processing, using the internet and so on then a refurbished pc is sufficient. Due to the large amount of second hand desktop pcs, there is a large supply market and demand is fairly low in comparison. This makes them ideal to find a bargain.

When purchasing a refurbished or second hand computer, it is very important to check everything like specifications, warranty, and terms and conditions. You can also ask friends to see if they are upgrading their computers at any time soon or ask around local schools and colleges who often sell off their old equipment extremely cheap.

If you are in the 'budget computer' market, you should look at some of the large famous companies such as IBM, Dell, and HP for example. As they do business in such high volumes, they can often offer you computer packaged systems cheaper than other manufacturers and shops. Certain of the big corporations have products which are specifically made for the low-end computer market. Additionally, if you approach the companies directly they often offer you a customized system, so you can choose exactly the specification that you need.

Finally, you can always build your own pc. Buying the parts and putting them together yourself is less expensive than buying a 'ready-made' personal computer. The disadvantage here of course is that you have to have a strong knowledge of how desktop pcs work in order to be able to do this. - 30431

What should you look for in your new PC desktop? There are many things to consider before you make a purchase regarding the right PC. Should an Individual Go for Computer Rental or Computer Purchase?

By Adriana Noton

In a day and age when computers can be purchased for just a fraction of the price they once brought, many wonder whether renting or buying a computer is the most cost effective option. Sure, businesses benefit substantially from renting computers, saving themselves upkeep and upgrade costs when the time comes, but for the individual purchaser or renter the choice is not quite so clear. Here are some things to consider when making this decision.

Systems

It seems like Microsoft is always launching a new operating system. Also, you may find that you prefer a Mac over a PC. When you purchase a computer, you must simply guess as to the system you like best. You can get advice from those around you, but you will find that for some, one system is ideal, while you have a hard time getting the hang of it. Renting allows you to try out operating systems for a short time. If you find that it is not the right fit for your needs, simply change computers when your lease is up. When you purchase a computer, you are stuck with the one you buy until you can afford to change machines.

Financing

If you can get financing, a new computer purchase may be an option. However, you will be paying for the computer long after it has lost most of its value, and interest charges will make the actual out of pocket cost much more than the sticker price on the computer. Unless you have cash on hand to buy a machine, renting may be more cost effective. It will also be a better option if you are not able to get financing because of a short or negative credit history. Credit checks are not required for most rental companies. You will need to prove stable employment, but if you can afford the rental cost, you can get a computer, regardless of your ability to buy them.

Upgrade

Do you like to have the latest, greatest technology on your machine? With a home computer, you can do some upgrading within the actual machine, but if you purchase your machine you will be limited. With computer rental, you will be able to trade in your computer for a "newer model." Of course, your lease agreement may dictate how often you can do this, but for most people you will find that you can have an up to date machine at all times with renting.

Repairs

With computer ownership, you must buy a warranty to guarantee that you can get affordable repairs. When your warranty runs out, you will be stuck paying for repairs out of your own pocket. If you are good at making these repairs on your own, this is not a difficulty, but the average computer user knows little about how to remove viruses, swap out hard drives, and perform other basic maintenance to the machine. Rented computers are the property of the rental company. As such, they will handle most repairs to the machine.

Computer rental is a viable option, not only for businesses but also for individuals. Before you pay for a brand new machine, consider whether or not it would make more sense to rent one and save yourself the hassle and expense of buying a computer. - 30431
